Did you know at the end of 2018 a secure My Health Record was created for you? However, if you don’t want a My Health Record please visit the My Health Record website for information on how to opt-out.

My Health record is the name of the digital health record system. Having a My Health Record means your important health information like allergies, medical conditions, medications and reports, with your consent, can be electronically available in one place. Doctors, specialists, and hospital staff, would be able to view this as a part of your continued care. This can be as simple as you giving consent while travelling for the healthcare professional to upload details of any visits you may have had with them so your regular doctor can view this information when you return from your travels. It also can mean that if you are taken into receive treatment at a healthcare facility that does not know you, they would be able to view important, relevant information regarding your medical history and medications if you are unable to do this for yourself.

As more people use the My Health Record system, Australia’s national health system will become better connected.  This will result in better, faster and more efficient care for you and your family.
